Anime Dice Characters Guide — Rarity, Traits and Team Building

How characters work in Anime Dice: rarity bands up to the 1-in-9,342,584 ceiling, the trait layer on top, mutations, and how to build the strongest team.

What characters are in Anime Dice

Characters are the game’s collectible layer: every roll of the die can reveal one, in the studio’s anime-inspired art style. The official media shows the flavor — a towering bone demon, a white-haired figure wreathed in blue energy — and the official description makes them the point of the game: “Roll dice and reveal insane Anime characters! … Have the BEST Anime Characters and climb the leaderboards!”

Characters matter twice over. Placed on your plot, they generate cash (including while you are offline), and on your team, they carry the traits and stats the leaderboard game runs on.

Rarity: bands and the ceiling

Rolls land in rarity bands — the community documents the visible labels as Rare, Epic and Legendary tiers, mirroring the dice ladder’s own labels. Two facts frame the system:

  • The ceiling is official. The game’s icon and key art advertise a top rarity of 1 in 9,342,584. That number is the developers’ own marketing, and it is the chase that defines the endgame.
  • Reaching the bands is Luck-gated. At low Luck, high bands are out of reach regardless of roll count. Dice tiers, upgrade nodes, codes and rebirth raise Luck, which is what moves rare bands into range — the mechanics live in the Luck and dice ladder guide.

The layers on top of rarity

A revealed character is a base; three systems stack on top of it:

  1. Traits. Each character carries a trait, typically boosting Health, Damage or Income. Community tier lists place Transcendent and Monarch among the strongest traits, but the full 13-trait list is community-documented, not official. Trait Rerolls — handed out generously by codes — reroll a character’s trait.
  2. Mutations. The community has documented six mutation labels: Silver, Gold, Emerald, Diamond, Ruby and Rainbow. Mutations layer on top of traits, and the full list lives in the mutations guide.
  3. Sizes. Huge and Titanic are size labels, not mutations — a character can be both, as in a “Huge Diamond” find. Sizes are separate from the mutation system.

Team building without a stat sheet

Since no official numbers exist, practical team building runs on structure rather than spreadsheets:

  • Income first, then power. Early on, place for cash — full pads beat good pads. Once income flows, shift placements toward your highest-trait, highest-rarity characters.
  • Reroll traits on keepers. A great character with a weak trait is the intended target for Trait Rerolls from codes. Rerolling is cheap in currency terms precisely because the base character is the hard part.
  • Let Luck work. The team upgrades itself as your Luck rises: same dice, better bands. The players with the strongest teams are, mostly, the ones who climbed the ladder — see the ladder guide — and rolled longer, not ones who found a secret.
  • Rebirth to accelerate. The permanent multiplier shortens every step above. Checklist in the rebirth guide.

What “the best characters” means in UPD 6

The game updates near-daily, and each UPD can add characters, bands or catch-up mechanics (UPD-era codes even hand out Tickets for the Tower mode). That means “best” is a moving target by design — the durable advice is the structure above: income, Luck, rerolls, rebirth. When a new UPD lands, the updates log tracks what changed, and the codes page catches the fresh strings that come with it.

Roll, reveal, place, reroll — that is the whole character game, and the 1-in-9,342,584 is simply what the ceiling looks like from underneath.
